Anyone who knows me gets that I sincerely believe generating online income makes sense. I have believed this for many years. With the constantly switching job market and the COVID outbreak, I believe it even more.
At first, back in the year 2000, I believed online income makes sense because it would give me the opportunity to be around for my kids as they grew up. It was important to me that I be present in the lives of my children. The idea of working for someone else and missing out on those amazing first experiences just didn’t work for me. So, I started an online business.
I realized online income makes sense because I could literally build and manage my business from any where that had internet service. As we traveled for basketball tournaments and family vacations, I could simply log in on my laptop, handle marketing and administrative tasks, and enjoy the experiences.
On sad note, when my wife became ill, I realized that online income makes sense because I wouldn’t have to leave her to go to an office or report to someone else’s scheduling requirements. I was able to be with her until the very end and my online income continued to show up.
With all this COVID stuff going on, my day to day business really hasn’t been impacted very much. I’m still able to log in, conduct marketing, and build my business. I’ve had to tend to some family members, various health and life issues, and move my schedule around to accommodate necessary changes. But the online income model has just continued on.
As a freelance bass player, I saw my music income completely dry up for a while. I look forward to getting back to playing live music around town and I am extremely grateful that my online income streams have continued moving forward.
If you are reading this article, I want to encourage you to consider adding an online income stream to your life. It doesn’t have to be your sole income or a full-time project. You can set up an online business model working part-time during evenings and weekends if you like. For me, I made the jump to full-time for a variety of reasons and I’ve never looked back.
